Neuropsychology Special Interest Group

Background

The Special Interest Group in Neuropsychology (SIGN) was formed in conjunction with the International Neuropsychology Society (INS) in July 2005. This group in general meets bi-monthly in order to discuss and develop issues relevant to Neuropsychology in Ireland. The SIGN committee (outlined below) meets monthly with support from the Psychological Society of Ireland (PSI) to develop clinical and policy issues of relevance and it is particularly committed to developing policies and guidelines for the practice and advancement of Clinical Neuropsychology nationally.

Aims

Developing and informing national standards and policy regarding Neuropsychology in Ireland.
• Promoting evidence-based practice in clinical neuropsychological research.
• The sharing and dissemination of information, experience and resources.
• Developing a support network for all psychologists working within or akin to Neuropsychology.
• Highlighting the needs, and advocating on behalf neurological and neuropsychological patient populations.

Membership of the Special Interest Group in Neuropsychology is open to all current PSI members. Membership entitles psychologists to attendance at our regular education and training events and to regular sharing and dissemination of information via email.
