Division of Educational PsychologyMarch 4th saw the launch of a new Division within the Society, that of the Division of Educational Psychology. The event was opened by Michael Cullinane, the outgoing Chair of the Special Interest Group in Educational Psychology. Michael highlighted the importance of the launch for Educational Psychology in Ireland and referred to the establishment of the Division as "not and end point, but the beginning of a new phase". The Society's President, Dr. Brian Hughes, welcomed with honour and esteem the foundation of the Division. He acknowledged the hard work that had brought the group to Division status. In highlighting the importance of Educational Psychology to psychology in Ireland, he referred to the fact that many of the Society's founding members were psychologists working in an educational environment.
