Expert Validation Committee
BACKGROUND
The Expert Validation Committee (EVC) was established in March 2008 to
process applications from psychologists who qualified overseas and wish to
take up employment within the Irish public service. Previously applications
for validation were reviewed by the MQRC but, as the number of such applications
significantly increased in recent years, a separate committee was required
to undertake this work. The EVC will maintain ongoing links with the MQRC.
The EVC reviews applications for validation of qualifications on behalf
of the Department of Health and Children.
The EVC is chaired by Dr. Katie Baird, the Society’s Director of
Professional Development and includes representatives from Clinical, Counselling,
Educational and Health academic training courses, practitioners and Divisions.
In addition to processing
applications the committee plans to review the applications forms and
procedures.
